Oh, we are having a beautiful autumn in the D.C. area. When I looked up and saw how the sun was hitting this yellow maple, I wished it could stay like this all year.
“How wonderful yellow is. It stands for the sun.”

Nice quotation and great color..
Thank you!
Yellow is absolutely my favorite color, so seeing your beautiful sunshine on yellow leaves photo was definitely a day brightener on a morning that started off with sadness. Thank you for sharing such beauty with others.
You’re so welcome, Meg. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a rough start today. Sending an email now.
Absolutely gorgeous! Trees are pretty much stripped of their leaves here, with the notable exception of the Japanese Maple … still firey red and hardly a leaf on the ground.
You’re definitely ahead of us, Cheryl. The Japanese Maples aren’t even changing color here yet. Can’t wait until they turn that brilliant red.
Lovely color for sure and so cheery. I love the quote from Van Gogh. I sure would be fun if the colors could stay year-round.
I guess we’d take the colors for granted if they were year-round, but I’d like to give it a try. I did take the beautiful weather in California for granted, but that process took many years.
That’s how it looked here and then something weird happened that I have never seen hapen like this. The leaves turned brown within a day and fell of. The park behind our house turned from an autumn to a wintery looking park in one day.
It’s so nice when the sun hits those intense yellow leaves.
I think my first autumn here was like that. The trees were gorgeous one day, then it rained really hard and everthing turned to brown mush!
Magnificent!!
Thanks so much!
