We spent only two days in Aix-en-Provence, France, but it was long enough for me to realize this was one of my favorite cities in the world. Dreamy, golden light everywhere with soft breezes blowing through plane trees. Not to mention gorgeous architecture all over.
So I shouldn’t have been astonished to see a car pull into these beautiful doors guarded by carved stone cherubs beneath a wrought-iron balcony with red geraniums:
Best garage ever.
Great weekend, everyone, and Happy Fourth of July to my American readers! Monday is a holiday, so I’ll be back in a week.

Happy weekend to you, Carole! I love this architecture, it’s amazing!
Thanks, Ann, I do too!
what a terrific garage door , , , who’d have (in a million years) guessed ?!?
Even with the tire tracks, I would have never guessed, Susan.
I never would have thought it was a garage! Gorgeous!
I know, right?
I’ve been to many cities in the South of France but not Aix. I can imagine the beautiful light.
Happy 4th of July.
I love the whole area, Caroline. The light (and the food) are incredible too.
Lovely weekend greeting, thank you, same to you. Did you have a chance to taste the famous Callisons d’ Aix, a magnificent cookie.
Yes, we did! Took a photo of the place where we bought them and brought a box home. Will post that one day.
Lovely
Thank you, Lynn. 🙂
