The coral trees are in bloom here now. I find them to be so cheery with their bright red-orange blossoms.
The trees are native to Brazil, but manage to thrive in California too.

Thank you for teaching me the name of this tree. I see it here all over the place and always wondered what the name would be for this tree with it’s so beautiful flowers.
Oh, you’re welcome! The Latin name is Erythrina, if you’re interested. There are many different species, but this is the most common in the San Diego area.
A nice bright color to chase away the winter doldrums. 🙂
