You can find the best stuff at grocery stores out here. This hibiscus plant was fairly begging me to put it in the cart. How could I resist? When I lived in California before, I got some of my best plants at the drugstore.
The pot was labeled thus:
I kind of like the creative spelling. Wasn’t sure the name of the hibiscus was actually “Spin the Bottle,” so I looked it up. Yep, that’s it.
I think it looks more like pink grapefruit.
When I lived in California before, hibiscus plants were being decimated by whiteflies. Fingers crossed, that won’t happen again.
Hope your week’s going well so far. Welcome, new subscribers!

What beautiful pictures…very sexy indeed.
I’m pretty sure that’s a first. No one’s ever called my flower shots “sexy.” 🙂
The detail and colors are a joy, a prime reason for my coming here so often.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the support.
I’ve never seen a hibiscus in this color before. Amazing.
I hadn’t either, Caroline. It is eye-catching, for sure.
What a beautiful flower and wonderful photograph! Thanks Carole……for sharing with all of us…..Shelley
Thanks for the nice comment, Shelley!
These photos make me want to get on a plane bound for Hawaii immediately. I remember the biggest, most beautiful hibiscus flowers I’d ever seen on Maui.
They are incredible in Hawaii. There was a trend here years ago where people put decals of hibiscus on their back windows to show they’d been to Hawaii.
It’s beautiful………….
Thank you. I’m so glad I bought it.
One of my favorite flowers that reminds me of home. And Spin the bottle–really?
Yeah! I don’t get it either. Maybe they meant spin the kaleidoscope?
I have a completely different version of the definition of spin the bottle–college may have had something to do with it.
Ha ha, I played that game in middle school! No alcohol, though.
Are those flowers edible? I think I had a flower in my martini once.
🙂 I have no idea. Nasturtiums look like really small hibiscus and they are good in salads.
Beautiful colors. I am used to red or white ones.
We see mostly yellow or pink around here. Thanks for stopping by!
