Just one photo today, as we were glued to the TV last night watching the vice presidential debate and the Orioles/Yankees game.
I’m serving up a poppy-seed bagel with strawberry cream cheese in California sunlight. Orange juice and cappuccino on the side. Enjoy. . . .
Great weekend, everyone!

Last night we were glued to the TV watching the Presidential primaries on disc 6 of the box set of 24 Hours, and I thought Orioles were biscuits. The picture is absolutely top. Fab:)
Your comment made me smile. You may be thinking of the American cookies, Oreos–those insanely addictive chocolate sandwich cookies with white creme inside. An Oriole is an orange and black bird found on the East Coast of the U.S. The baseball team from Baltimore, Maryland uses the Oriole as their mascot. Supposedly, the Oriole got its name from the colors found in the coat of arms of George Calvert, first Lord Baltimore. Here’s a pic of the mascot: http://bit.ly/RmtmCv And yes, a grown man gets inside a bird costume at the games.
You’re watching American TV and I’m watching stuff from Great Britain. Just finished viewing three seasons of Doc Martin and am looking forward to upcoming episodes.
Glad you liked the photo. I don’t do a lot of food photography, but enjoy it very much.
At first, I thought it was ice cream! Which could be breakfast….
Oh definitely! Especially if it’s paired with warm apple pie. 🙂

Such a wonderfully summery photo.
It’ such a coincidence, I’ve eaten my first cream cheese today. I’ve always read about it but you don’t really get that here and thought I try it. It’s not how I imagined it but it was nice. I’m not much into sweets though, luckily.
Have you never had cheesecake, Caroline? I love it, but the calories prevent me from indulging more than once or twice a year. New York has the best cheesecake in the world, in my opinion.
have a wonderful weekend!
🙂
Decadent, Carole! I’m already missing the sunlight in our Canadian Autumn. I’m off to St. Lawrence Market in Toronto for breakfast with a pal this morning … wonder what we’ll have? You have a lovely weekend too.
I’m sure it’ll be something good. Can’t believe I’ve never been to Toronto!
Me neither! Let me know when you decide it is time to remedy that situation … I’m a little north of Toronto.
Sounds like the perfect way to start the day! Delicious.
It was. 🙂 Plain cream cheese on an everything bagel is my second favorite.
I just had an everything bagel this morning from my favorite little hole in the wall in Brooklyn. 🙂
This is picture is so cheerful – love seeing the world through your eyes.
Jennie, thank you.
