Just a couple more horizon shots. Both were taken somewhere in Wyoming or South Dakota.
There’s an awful lot of red dirt in this area and I think they add it to the highway mix. I really liked the contrast between the colors when this storm approached.
The clouds in this part of the country are so wonderful. The shadow play is pretty nice too.
Great weekend, everyone!

I love these highway shots. Very painterly – beautiful
Thank you so much.
Amazing how vast this looks. I’d like to travel these roads one day.
Be sure to allow a lot of time, Caroline. I once heard about some people from Norway who wanted to see New York, Minnesota, Texas and California–in a week. They had no concept of the vastness of this country. It can take all day to drive across states like Texas, Montana and South Dakota.
I’ve driven through the Dakotas but years ago. The first shot looks like you are heading into bad weather … although it could be miles and miles away! Hope you had a great weekend too, Carole.
Love that top photo especially. I want to do a road trip across the US now! I’ll never forget seeing space like this when driving through Texas!
OH I miss that vastness.
I am always into skies – you can almost not believe places like this exist.
