Siberian Pupils
When I took this photo recently I didn’t notice how dilated Yuri’s pupils were. They’re huge. I guess that makes it easier to hunt in the dark. I will often find him in front of our sliding doors at night, completely engrossed by something, but of course I can’t see a thing.
A recent New Yorker Magazine article said that cats are less domesticated than we think. I know, because sometimes Yuri looks like he wants to kill me with that intense stare! 🙂

Autumn Green and Orange
I’m not shooting much these days because of Covid, so I’ll be dipping into the archives for a while.
I shot this in Maryland and was very happy to capture the blue bokeh. I miss seeing autumn leaves, but not enough to move back there.

Vertical Cloud

I took this a couple of days ago. Have never seen a cloud formation like this one before. I love the way the sun lit up the very top of the cloud.

All About the Greens
I managed to capture Yuri looking right at me and liked the green of his eyes with the fig tree. He usually looks away as soon as I put the phone up, so I got lucky this time.

Memorial Day
Monday is Memorial Day in the U.S. It is always observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.
Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971.

Remembering Alaska
Was just going through my Alaska photos and thought I’d post one that didn’t make it before. (I took a LOT of photos there.) This was near Glacier Bay where the water was this incredible blue. I can’t recommend visiting Alaska enough. It is stunning.
