Beautiful Ålesund Part III

Really like the colors here. See below for the building reflected in the water….

A stone church.

It’s a little battered, but I like the color and details on this door.

I zoomed in on this to see what it says in the shield. “BLOD OG ILD,” then underneath, “FRELSES-ARMEEN.” Google translated this as “Blood and Fire, Salvation Army.” Did a little research and discovered that the Salvation Army played a role in WWII to help the Norwegian Resistance efforts against the Germans.

I went back to capture this beautiful sailboat.

The sky was so blue that day!

A hotel in that great shade of yellow.

Can you imagine designing an entire city? I can’t.

Such a picturesque little city. See the yellow school?

One last look.

And we’re off again.
