Back to Sauvie Island Farm

I spent a few days in the Portland, Oregon area. First flight in three and a half years! I flew with Delta Airlines and they left on time every single time. Even landed early. It was weird flying to Salt Lake City from San Diego when the final destination was Portland. Oh well.

I was visiting my son, so we went to Sauvie Island Farm, which I went to with my other son four years ago. It was threatening to rain, but we only had a couple of sprinkles before we arrived.

It is just such a picturesque place….

I was so happy to see lavender. I’d wanted to go to a famous lavender farm (Lavender Valley Farms in Mount Hood) but found out it closed down permanently!

I love sunflowers. Almost all of them were covered with bees like this one.

I like the clouds in this shot.

And more sunflowers.

I like the way this one is almost standing at attention.

I can’t remember if these are asters or dahlias. Did you know both are edible?

I have never seen cabbages growing in the ground. Didn’t realize the outer leaves were so big. Aren’t they beautiful?

Great weekend, everyone!

What a delightful place. Love the field of lavender, but I have to admit favoring sunflowers. Great pics!

I like the flowers (in particular, those bees enjoying their dinner/dessert/whatever).

    Great work, Carole.
