On a whim, I bought some apricot-colored roses at the grocery store the other night. Brought them home and stuck them in water, paper and all, because I needed to cook dinner. Afterwards, I noticed the light outside was looking particularly good, so I took the roses out of water and laid them on my weathered blue table.
I like the way the paper wrapping picked up the blue in the table.
The “ribbons” are actually striped leaves. I don’t know the name of the plant, but I love the way it’s woven into the arrangement.
I took off the paper for this one. Not thrilled with the composition, but I wanted to show the entire arrangement.
Honestly, these roses didn’t have a bad angle.
Incidentally, it’s National Rose Month. Happy June too, everyone!
Thank you. Means a lot coming from you. 🙂
What a shot !
Thanks, Susan! It’s nice when everything comes together.
These are very beautiful images 🙂
The color is wonderful. That reminds me that it’s about time for the roses to be in bloom at my local botanic garden. They have a terrific rose garden. I love to look at all the varieties.
Are you talking about the one in Brooklyn, Jackie? Someday I am going to see that place. Have heard it’s fabulous.
Yes, that’s the one. It’s within walking distance from my apartment. I try to stop by a few times a year, but time just gets away. They have a lovely Japanese garden and the cherry blossoms are stunning.
Oh, you’re lucky to have that so close!
These are seriously great shots. Definitely postcard-worthy. Why not a Valentine’s Day card with apricot colored roses for a change. Everything came together for these pictures. The light, the arrangement of the bouquet, the table.
Thanks, Caroline. I’ll definitely turn these into cards on society6.com.
I’ve been in a bit of a “photography slump,” so this was a nice boost. 🙂
Love the “plant”-ribbon.
Me too. 🙂
