While the rest of the country was in a deep freeze a couple weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be in a garden taking these shots:
I don’t know the name of this particular cactus, but it reminds me of a spider.
Bananas growing outside in January. Baffling to me, still.
The fronds on this Sago Palm seem to be reaching for the light, don’t they?
Yes, we have autumn leaves in January here. All the leaves are just now dropping from the tree in our front yard.
Great weekend, everyone!

A nice collection of photos. So varied. I like the cactus a lot.
I do too, Caroline. I’ll have to find out the name the next time I’m there.
For me, the bananas are the most unusual item in the “bunch” – get it? Bunch? Ha.
Made me smile this morning, Jackie. 🙂
So that’s a banana tree. I remember seeing one in Honduras, but the bananas weren’t visible. I thought it looked so exotic and now I know that I’m connected to it since I normally have a banana a day. I’m not an apple fan. Nice photos. Is another big freeze on the way for the rest of the US or is that just in Canada?
Not aware of another big freeze, TBM. We had temps in the 80s for nearly two weeks, but now it’s back in the 70s. We need rain, or we’re going to be in a drought.
