Have I mentioned how beautiful the colors are in Hawaii? In addition to the luscious greens and the blue Pacific, you’ll see the following:
a vibrant purple Hong Kong orchid tree blossom
Hawaiian shirts in shades of pink and orange
off-white plumeria with yellow centers (On the road to Hana, we stopped and bought leis made from plumeria, and the incredible aroma floated up to us all day long.)
dark pink hibiscus
a blue floral phone booth
red bougainvillea in late afternoon sunlight
a cotton-candy-pink display window in Paia, Maui
mint green succulents with rough-hewn timber
the delicate pink bloom of wild ginger
and the glorious orange and navy blue of a bird of paradise.
Great weekend, everyone!

These colorful pictures are such a treat. I like the wild ginger and the succulents with the timber a lot.
Thanks so much, Caroline.
Beautiful photos and the colors really are stunning! Have a wonderful weekend 🙂
Thank you!
The wild ginger is very beautiful and the Hawaiian shirts look so good in a row and so bad once removed from the shop:)
Oh, that is so funny! It is true–you think you’ll wear stuff like hibiscus earrings and Hawaiian shirts when you get home, but they just don’t look right outside of Hawaii. Except maybe in Florida or California. I look at my kukui nut bracelet from time to time for the good memories. 🙂
These are a feast for the eyes. Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks. 🙂
I love the vibrant colors! It’s lovely to see them all one after the other. Nature is really on display in Hawaii.
It certainly is, Jackie. I imagine it’s like this all year, but Hawaii seemed to be at its best when we were there.
love love love that phone booth! And the succulents too. the frangipanis (or, plumeria) – I can smell them from here! Thanks for this brightness!
Thanks! I thought the phone booth was pretty cool too.
Spectacular array, Carole! I got a kick out of the flower-decorated phone booth. Difficult choosing a favourite but since I’ve never seen wild ginger, that’s where I’m leaning!
I had seen wild ginger in California, but never this big. I’m thinking it should grow in Florida?
the flowers are so clear and beautiful 🙂
Thank you. 🙂
I hate the way birds of paradise smell … or I might be thinking of that large white flower with yellow and pink insides. Does plumeria have another name?
I don’t think birds of paradise smell. 🙂 Plumeria is also called frangipani.
These are all stunning.
