I’ve written about the Eastern redbud tree before. It’s one of my favorites now. I do love the way it stands out with its neon-pinkish-purple blossoms against all the green:
Up close, the blossoms make kind of a soft explosion:
Hope your week’s going well so far. . . .

Beautiful blossom shots – wonderful
Thank you so much. I think your blog is wonderful.
This might be the same tree that’s in Kiefer’s front yard. I love the blooms…until Boo and Radley track in petals all over the floor.
Better than mud. I raised two boys, so I know too well how hard it is to keep floors clean. 🙂
What a superb tree!
They are wonderful. After the blossoms are gone, a very pretty heart-shaped leaf emerges.
That’s an amzing shot, the pink in front of the light grean and the dark green of the pine tree.
The second one is lovely as well.
Thanks, Caroline. Mother Nature really does have the best palette.
So pretty and delightful. Do they have a nice fragrance as well?
Sorry, Bonnie, no scent. I think they use all their energy for the color. 🙂
I too love redbuds Ms. Pearl. Last year I entered a year-long photo contest, and redbuds was one of the themes. I kinda became obsessed. 🙂 I didn’t win the contest that month, but one of the pics I took is now the background for my business cards. Great captures!
Very cool, Bonnie.
Psst, call me Carole. 🙂
