Winter Lace

I happen to like lacecap hydrangeas a lot. Haven’t had much luck growing them, because they require a very sandy soil and we have lots of red clay. They grow especially well in Cape May.

We have a public garden not far from us that has some decent lacecaps. Here’s one of the bluer ones. . . .

I went back recently and found the hydrangeas had turned to this:

Different, but pretty in a wintry way, I think. I did add two subtle textures to this image.

Hope your week’s going well so far. . . .I had some really good news today: Getty Images asked me to submit 19 of my photos for possible commercial licensing! I don’t know if any will be licensed, but it’s exciting to be asked.

I love hydrangeas too! I’ve never seen this variety. Gorgeous.

Good luck on submitting your photos to Getty Images. You take lovely photos and they’d be crazy not to want to license them.

    This is fabulous. Congratulations.
This is a lovely, lovely photo. As much as I like the blue ones as well, that white shot is amazing.
I’d love to see it as a book cover.

Both shots are pretty. I love that blue, but things tend to turn pink in our soil. (We have sandy soil, but I think it’s acidic).

Love the processing on this shot, Carole.

That is a very vivid blue! Congrats on the possible licensing!
