When I bought this plant, I thought it was ornamental cabbage. Someone later suggested it was kale. Whatever it is, I like the colors in sunlight.
This was supposed to go out on Friday, but I ran into one snag after another trying to publish on the hotel computer and then on my iPhone. After much teeth gnashing, I finally gave up. Apologies.
Hope you all had a great weekend. . . .

I remember when I first saw these… I was so enchanted. Colorful cabbage. It’s a nice picture, like a very rare rose.
I hope you had a nice weekend too. It’s still warm here.
Thanks, Caroline. . .we had a great weekend. The weather was perfect–80F with a slight breeze.
The colors together are really pretty.
I’d be surprised if that were kale. Kale is very dark green and crinkly.
Turns out there are several kinds of kale. I did some research and found out ornamental cabbage is actually kale. I was surprised to learn that it’s edible too. The dark leafy kale is the kind we most commonly eat. It’s actually good roasted in the oven–tastes like potato chips!
Very nice Carole. They sell something similar here in Minnesota and call it Ornamental Kale. I’ve been tempted to purchase it but haven’t yet.
I passed it up for years, Jeanne. Wouldn’t even eat the regular kind until I found out how good it is for you.
