Looking at today’s weather forecast, I find it hard to believe summer’s still 13 days away. Ninety-eight degrees Fahrenheit already? Yeesh.
No matter, it’s the best time for treats like raspberries and cream,
ice water with orange slices
and a bowl of sweet cherries.
My fondest memory of eating cherries is years ago at a friend’s house on Lake Washington in Seattle. A bunch of us sat on the grass under a starlit sky, eating freshly-picked cherries out of a huge bucket. I think someone was strumming on a guitar. Best cherries, ever.
Hope your week’s going well so far….

Now I am hungry for fruit, gorgeous shots!
Thanks, Mindy. I wish fruit tasted good all year, but it’s not as good in the winter here. That’s when I really miss California. Hope you and your family are doing well.
Wonderful colors, puts me in the mood as well to eat fruit. It is quite cold here all of a sudden and rain like I’ve hardly ever seen it before.
Hasn’t Europe been kind of dry this year, Caroline? I know they were facing a drought in France. I think I’d trade this heat and humidity for some rain.
We had an unusually hot spring and, as is normal here, it gets humid hence the rain. In England it’s raining as well but the rest of Europe might be quite dry. I’m afraid there will be floods again. Not in Switzerland but Germany is in danger.
Had not heard that about Germany. The weather seems unusually severe this year.
I love the colors in these three. So evocative of summer.
I usually put lemon slices in the water jug, but next time I think I’ll try oranges.
Cucumber slices are also good!
Love the photos..so refreshing.
Gorgeous summery photos.
Thanks, Jennie!
I meant to say that now whenever I see flowers I always think of you (Ms. Pearl would probably know what this is).
Haha, you give me way too much credit! I know quite a few on the East Coast, but there are still a lot unknown to me. I have a Flickr contact in England who keeps posting shots of flowers I’ve never seen before. Just when I think he’s done, another one shows up.
These shots are a perfect indication of summer. Lovely compositions đŸ™‚
Thanks, Bonnie. Hey, you only have one day left on the 365, right? I so envy you!
