Not too long ago, my husband and I decided to try out an eatery in the D.C. area called BGR The Burger Joint. The burger was good, but the real kicker was the sweet potato fries! Oh my, they were goooood. Sliced just right, crisp on the outside but tender on the inside, with a little bit of seasoning–perfection. Judge for yourself:
Shot with the iPhone. I took this for a 365-day project on Flickr and it’s done well, much to my surprise.
And because Polarize is my favorite app….
Oh, I split the order with my husband. š
looks so YUM, my mom loves those š
I like them better than regular fries now.
I could have never split the order. I can’t share sweet potato fries. With anyone. I think they are my favorite food. Right after red velvet cake. š
No way! Red velvet cupcakes are probably my favorite dessert. Normally, I don’t give away sweet potato fries, but this order was huuuuuge. Plus you can see that the burger was a mile high.
This is so NOT fair. I’m sitting here starving and can’t make up my mind to fix something. I would love to try sweet potatoes, never had it.
I liked to see the different photos too.
Caroline, are you serious? Sweet potatoes are kind of a super food–chock full of vitamins and minerals. They are also good baked and mashed with a little butter. At holidays, a lot of people bake them with marshmallows–so good. Just Google “sweet potato casserole” and you’ll find tons of recipes.
I will try and find some and then try a recipe.
I think you’ll like them, Caroline.
I am sooooooo hungry now. A friend and I stopped for a burger enroute to the cottage on the weekend. We confessed one to the other that we hadn’t enjoyed a burger in weeks! It was delicious, but pales in comparison to this beauty. The fries are kick’n!
Yeah, I don’t eat burgers very often either, but could never give them up!
And here I thought you were going to tell us how to make them! š
I’ll leave that to you. š I think these were done in the fryer, because they were kind of sinfully good. Baking them in the oven isn’t quite the same.
