The one red leaf, the last of its clan,
That dances as often as dance it can,
Hanging so light, and hanging so high,
On the topmost twig that looks up at the sky.
~Samuel Taylor Coleridge

This is a great shot! Such vibrant color and great background blur! And the poetry is perfectly fitting! Great post!
Thank you! I like the poetry a lot too.
Was that leaf actually once green????? Stunning.
Actually, this one has red leaves from spring until winter. The reason this leaf looks so vivid is the fact that I shot it with the sun behind it.
It’s a remarkable photo. The blue background is perfect for this red little leaf. This reminds me of O’Henry’s short story The Last Leaf.
Thanks, Caroline. I’ll have to look that up.
I saw that you can read it online.
By the way I reviewed Mrs Palfrey 🙂
You read it already?? You are a fast reader. I just watched the movie the other night. 🙂
Absolutely stunning Carole. This is a perfect example of simplicity in photography and balance in composition! I’m teaching my kids about this now and would love to use it as an example for them with your permission!
Kristen, so good to see you here! Thanks for the compliment–means a great deal from a pro like you. 🙂 I’d be flattered if you used it.
