Yesterday was not my favorite. I had to go to the dentist (one of my least favorite activities) to fix a crown that had fallen out the day before. A simple cement job that should last 15-20 minutes. An hour and a half later, I had a temporary crown and a completely numb mouth. I’ll spare you the gory details. But it threw off my day completely. I’ve got so much going on now, I don’t welcome losing large chunks of my day.
So to cheer myself up, I stopped and bought these beautiful purple tulips:
I bought this vase years ago. It’s a little small, but I like it.
I deliberately overexposed this for a different, softer look.

Sorry to hear about your crown and long dentist appt. =( Those flowers are gorgeous!
Thank you! My mouth was numb for 7 hours–the first shots didn’t “take.” 😦
7 hours?! I never get the numbing shots for that reason, but my cavities are generally pretty tiny.
Yes. I think it was about 3 shots for one tooth. There wasn’t that much decay either, but the nerve was close.
No novocaine?? I bow down before you. 🙂
What a great pick me up! These tulips are gorgeous. I love the close up shot.
Hope your teeth are feeling better. 😦
Thanks, I’m fine. Just bummed about losing so much time in an already-planned-out day.
Purple tulips are my favourites. I absolutely love tha last shot. Going to the dentist is bad enough but having to stay there three times longer than planned is really unfair.
The last one is my favorite too.
I should probably count my blessings. If the crown hadn’t fallen off, I wouldn’t have known that decay was starting and would have faced a root canal as well. I think I’d rather do anything than go to the dentist.
Oooh I hate the dentist, sorry to hear about you having to go!
The purple tulips are absolutely lovely though. I can’t remember seeing such a beautiful colour.
Thank you! Your food photos are so beautiful. 🙂
Purple is my favorite, and these tulips are gorgeous! Love the vase, and love the one you “overexposed.” Sorry about your ordeal at the dentist…hope you’re feeling better today!
I am. Thanks, Bonnnie!
Yeah i have a root canal and crown done about 8 months ago.
It was horrible from atart to finsh all six appointments. lol
I totally feel for you, personally i’d have bought a movie but the flowers do look lovely
I have enough movies already. 🙂
Oucheewowoa … so sorry to hear about the crown, Carole. Hope the permanent one goes smoother. AND, I don’t think I have ever seen purple tulips … exquisite!!
I’m sure it’ll be fine. We do have a wonderful dentist. I just hate going there.
Are purple tulips that rare? Never really thought about it before….
More whining here, Carole It’s snowing at home today. Pal sent beautiful shot of 30 foot fir tree in her front yard bending from the weight of the white stuff. 20 more cm’s predicted overnight … I don’t wanna go home on Sunday!
OK, you’re entitled, Cheryl. Maybe it’ll melt before you get home?
Enjoy that last weekend….
Amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever seen tulips that shade of purple.
It’s snowing here tonight. Boo.
Take care of your “teef”!
Nooooo, Maura, not snow! We’ve had tons of rain, but sunny today.
beautiful. that picked me up a little too!
Thank you, and welcome to the blog. 🙂
Aaaw. I hope you’re already on the mend.
I love tulips and can’t wait til mine come up. Those ones are so pretty, no wonder you bought them. I like the quote too.
I’m doing OK. Went back to the dentist today and had an impression made for the permanent crown. Numb for only five hours this time.
I have noticed that the lighting in your home is quite fantastic! It is almost like your whole house is a studio 🙂 I hope you are feeling better!
Well, the dining room and study are my “studios.” 🙂 The room that I shoulduse (empty bedroom) has a lot less light and space. Kind of a pain to put everything away each day, but I’m used to it now.
I’m fine, thanks!
