We are very fortunate to have an early spring in California. It arrives in mid-February and one of the things I like best about it is the arrival of pink jasmine. I tried to grow it a couple years ago with no success, but last year it finally took root. It’s one of my favorites and smells incredible. When I moved to the East Coast 14 years ago I was very surprised that we couldn’t really plant anything until May. I tried to sneak some plants in, but a brutal frost killed them.
We were in Rancho Santa Fe recently where I took the shots below. They landscape the shops so beautifully there….
Such a great display of succulents.
I’ve photographed this restaurant window before. It’s Thyme in the Ranch.
Another nice use of succulents.
I didn’t mean to be away for so long–it just kind of happened. To be totally honest, I was kind of burning out. Though this isn’t a travel blog per se, it kind of turned into one. I don’t venture out much with Covid-19 and travel is out of the question for now. But the break has been good for me and I’ll keep going as long as I feel inspired.
Thanks for hanging in there with me. Much appreciated.
Great weekend, everyone!
