A walk in the park

I’ve been to New York several times, but never get around to really seeing Central Park. This trip, the weather was so chilly, we stayed only a while. I finally got a picture of one of the familiar bridges, though….

Central Park bridge

Remember the bird lady in “Home Alone 2”? Now I want to see Central Park in bloom. There’s a guy on Flickr who posts amazing photos from the rose garden, so that’s on my list too.

Wollman rink

Wollman ice rink. I once stayed in a penthouse in one of those tall buildings overlooking the park, but that’s another story.

Central Park

I have no idea what this building is, but I like the colors and architecture.

park + pond

There were so many people in the park that day, it was hard to get a shot with no one in it. I kind of like the way this turned out, though.

OK, I’ll be posting a few images tomorrow, since my class is ending and I’ll be in Florida next week. Hope your week’s is going well.

Love the architecture in the building with the gable end on it. Old bridges are another favorite of mine as well. Never been to Central Park or in a penthouse.

    Lovely photos Ms. Pearl!
That pavilion is called the dairy. Children and their parents could get refreshments and be in the shade but still get a breeze from the pond. It was restored in the 1970s to its original glory.

Beautiful scenery shots, that first one is so pretty! and the last one with the cityscape in the back is my favorite!

The bridge is fanatstic. Central park is in so many movies I would absolutely want to go there if I get a chance to visit New York.
Have a nice week in Florida. I’m sure you will show us gorgeous photos once you are back.

All photos are great…but I love, love the bridge one! So pretty!

  6. Oh my, you are one of those people who takes amazing photos of places I’ve been and makes me think “Was I really there? I don’t remember this.”

  7. *sigh* What lovely photos! I especially love the last one.

We are heading to New York soon, so I can’t wait to see all of these things in person myself!

Beautiful! I’ll tell you, NYC certainly knows how to “do” parks!

I’ve never ventured through Central Park either, but I definitely want to, especially after seeing these shots. There was a scene from Sex in the City where Charlotte took a ride through Central Park by horseback…I wonder if that really can be done?

    That bridge is just breathtaking.

What a gorgeous picture of the ice rink. Well done!
